The Girls

This site, as you already know, is all about the greatest natural resource North Carolina has to offer the country and the world - it's limitles supply of Carolina Girls. Unlike the northeast, where the winter is entirely too cold to go anywhere, or the deep south where going outside even in the depth of winter results in profuse sweating, North Carolina has a perfect seasonal variation is mild weather. Sure, we get the odd hurricane that comes over here to die, and our forests occasionally decide to barbecue themselves, but even the Southern Part of Heaven is entitled to occasionally have a minor breakdown.

In these pages, over time, you'll meet some of the most gorgeous, friendliest, well-dressed and sassiest women in the country, much less the state. From the beaches of the Outer Banks to the Blue Ridge mountains, these ladies are the best reason to visit or move to North Carolina anyone can think of!

The Shoots

The shoots you'll see in this site are all the work of your webmaster and resident photographer. Everything is completely original, including the design of the site itself. If you've got suggestions on how to improve the site or requests for specific types of shoots, let me know!

The locations you'll see are also all within North Carolina - I travel quite a bit, and I routinely visit the Outer Banks both for photographing gorgeous women and for SCUBA diving. Many of the shoots done on location are done in the central area of NC, from Research Triangle Park to the Triad. If you live around those parts, maybe you've seen me drive by and not even realized it!

The Camera

I use mostly a Nikon D70 for my shoots, which is a wonderful camera. I shoot exclusively in RAW mode, mostly because I'm a catankerous old-fashioned coot who doesn't believe the camera knows enough to get the JPEG right, and even in RAW mode, I'd prefer to be using film. I do use two film cameras, a Nikon N80QD for 35mm work and a Pentax 645 for medium format work. Unfortunately, developing the film takes long enough that I often get impatient with myself, and it sometimes takes several weeks for me to actually develop the film. For lighting, I most often use only available light when outdoors. Indoors, I use only a speedlight attached to the camera body. I'll occasionally use modeling hotlights, but not often since they get so freaking hot it's ridiculous.

After ech shoot, I go through and pick out the best raw images, do a little bit (okay, a lot in some cases) of Photoshop work on my trusty Intel Mac Mini (I used to be a linux-only geek, but lord this new Mini is nice!), and assemble the model's page. Presto, change-o, and I've just given you yet another reason to move to North Carolina at your earliest opportunity!
